About GOAL 3: From Reactive to Proactive Care
In an overcrowded and understaffed hospital, a nurse moves quickly between beds.
He/she has the impossible task of monitoring all patients by hand, while also providing medication, doing administration and providing life saving interventions. Early signs of deterioration are missed, resulting in late interventions that are time consuming, costly, and worst of all, less effective. Time and resources which were already stretched are put under further pressure, setting off a vicious cycle of reactive care with overburdened staff and poor outcomes. Now imagine this:
‣ Patients are attached to an intuitive and reliable vital signs monitor, reducing workload
‣ A central screen shows who needs attention — providing insight where and when it is needed
‣ Health workers stay in control and initiate treatment when treatments are most effective and lowest in costs
Fewer missed signs. Better outcomes. Less stress.
GOAL 3 provides affordable data-driven health technology for health facilities in low-resource settings. Our IMPALA Monitoring System helps shift care from reactive to proactive — cutting child mortality by up to 51% and easing workloads for 91% of users. We are already active in Rwanda, Malawi, and Tanzania — and we’re just getting started.
We’re a purpose-driven team with roles in Africa and offices in the Netherlands and Rwanda.
